The Greek goddess Demeter, whose name means „Mother of the Delta,“ symbolizes the vulva triangle and the triple goddess. As the goddess of barley, Demeter taught people how to farm, which allowed them to settle down. She represents the ideal mother who fulfills her role without needing a man and embodies a perfect mother-daughter relationship. Along with her daughter Persephone, she controls the seasons: Persephone‘s descent into the underworld marks the beginning of autumn, and her return marks the beginning of spring.
