Kali

God is a woman, and She is wild

For over 7,000 years, the Indian goddess Kali has been worshipped, especially as the primal mother who both gives life and takes it away. She represents the deep link between the color black and time. As the ruler of time and space, she embodies a creative void, showing that enlightenment can only be reached by going beyond space and time limits. Today, Kali seems frightening because society has mostly banished the idea of death, though it was once seen as necessary for new beginnings. She also stands for unrestrained sexuality and ecstatic pleasure.
